Exercising with cavernoma

Postby Dev_in_tx » Tue Jul 23, 2019 5:18 pm

Hi, I was just diagnosed this Sunday. Went to the ER as I had a brief fainting episode and left with one 6mm cavernous malformation detected in the right temporal lobe. The ER doc said that my fainting had nothing to do with the Cavernoma and there was no hemorrhage but referred me to a neurosurgeon to have it checked out. She said it was an incidental finding. I don’t believe I’ve had any symptoms related to the cavernoma.

I lead an active life that includes lifting weights, tennis, running, hiking etc. I am wondering if I have to make changes to these activities or reduce these activities to lower my chances of bleeding or hemorrhage. I will appreciate any suggestions on this. Thank you!

Hello Dev,

I would also like to know more about the risk of exercising with a spinal cord cavernoma.
I have not found any clear answer to this yet.

I do CrossFit 3/4 times a week (weight lifting etc ..) and I wonder if it is beneficial or if it could affect negatively.

I'd appreciate somebody to inform about exercising with cavernoma.

Many thanks :)
